Scanning

How do I adjust the edges?

In Review, tap Crop to open Adjust edges. Drag a corner, or the middle of a side, to the edge of the document; a magnifier shows what is under your finger. Auto crop finds the edges again. Tap Done to keep the change. Saved scans work the same way: open the scan and tap Crop.

Why didn't it find the edges?

Loop looks for the four corners of the page. Put the page on a surface of a different colour, use even light, keep it flat, and keep all four corners in the frame. If it still misses the edges, take the photo anyway, then fix the edges with Crop.

Which languages can it read?

Text recognition reads English and Japanese, and usually other languages written in the Latin alphabet. Bangla and Hindi cannot be read yet. It runs on this phone and works offline.

Files and backup

Where are my files?

Your scans are kept inside Loop, on this phone. To get a PDF or image out, open the scan and export it: Share sends it to another app, and the save options put a copy on your phone. A backup folder holds copies for restoring into Loop, not PDFs to open.

How do I move to a new phone?

On the old phone, open Settings, then Backup & restore, and back up to a folder the new phone can reach, such as iCloud Drive, Google Drive or Dropbox. On the new phone, install Loop, open Backup & restore, choose Restore from a backup and pick that folder.

I forgot my backup password

A backup password cannot be recovered or reset, not even by us, because it never leaves your phone. Your scans on this phone are not affected. On a phone where backup is working, open Backup & restore, turn the password off, then turn it on again with a new one; backups made from then on use it. A backup made with the forgotten password cannot be opened.
