Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Loopwise Lab, the trade name of the individual developer of Loop Scanner ("Loop", "the developer"). By using Loop you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Loop.

If you got Loop from the App Store, Apple's standard licence agreement for apps also applies. These terms add to it.

Using Loop

You may use Loop on your own devices for personal or work purposes. You may not copy, sell or redistribute the app itself, or try to take it apart except where the law allows.

Your content

Your scans and everything in them belong to you. Loop keeps them on your phone, and the developer never receives or sees them unless you send them to us.

Acceptable use

Use Loop only in ways that are lawful. Scan only documents you are allowed to copy, and respect the privacy of the people named in them. You are responsible for what you scan, store and share.

Loop Scanner Pro

Loop's scanning features are free. Loop Scanner Pro is an optional purchase that adds the extra features listed on the Pro screen. It comes as two plans: Lifetime, a single payment that never renews, and Yearly, a subscription that renews every year. The price of each plan is shown before you buy.

You buy Pro from the App Store or Google Play, and they charge you. A Yearly subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings; on the App Store, cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge. Deleting Loop does not cancel the subscription. Lifetime never renews, so there is nothing to cancel.

If a Yearly offer includes a free trial, its length and the price after it are shown before you start. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged.

Apple or Google handles refunds under its own rules. If the price of Yearly changes, the store tells you before the new price applies.

To use Pro on a new phone with the same store account, tap Restore on the Pro screen. If a Yearly subscription ends, the Pro features stop working. Your scans stay on your phone, and files you have already exported stay yours.

No warranty

Loop is provided as is. The developer works to keep it reliable but does not promise that it will be free of errors, that every scan will find the right edges, or that recognized text will be accurate. Keep the originals of important documents.

This section does not exclude the developer's liability, which is set out in "Limitation of liability" below.

Limitation of liability

If the developer is liable for damage caused by slight negligence (not gross negligence or intentional misconduct), the developer is liable only for direct and ordinary damage.

This does not limit the developer's liability for damage caused by intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited under Japanese law, including the Consumer Contract Act.

Changes to these terms

The developer may change these terms when the law changes, when features or Pro change, or to keep Loop secure. A change will stay within the purpose of these terms and be reasonable for you.

Before a change takes effect, the new terms and the date they take effect ship inside an app update. A change that is unfavourable to you takes effect at least 30 days after that update is released.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan.

This does not take away any protection that the consumer law of the country where you live gives you.
